Hello, I was experiencing system lock ups, they used to happen just after start up. I figured this was due to amd ahci drivers to be honest and as they never remove very cleanly I took my system back to 3 months ago with an image restore.
This is basically windows 7 64 bit with updates, no other software at all.
I installed Avast internet security, then my office home and stand alone outlook Both 2010.
Ran windows update and installed the many office updates.... Then system froze.....
I let it go and played some games (on my second drive) all was great, went to bed when I woke up system locked up solid just after boot for about a minute.
Event log is full of search errors server not available. I ran repair on office 2010, which didn't help.
Office home seemed ok it was outlook 2010 that was failing.
Removed Avast! all is well again?
Any ideas what is wrong?
