Annoying Email Messages
« on: April 26, 2012, 06:00:49 PM »
We have Avast Pro licensed on two virtual Windows XP computers residing inside two iMacs.  We used to have Avast for Mac, but never received a reminder to update.  We NEVER use the windows desktop for email or internet work.  We ONLY use the iMacs for email and internet research.  After getting the new licenses, we are being driven nuts by constant messages from Avast that it is checking email.  It skips every message (all are listed in yellow).  This message is annoying as well as making no sense.  It slows down our email, blocks the screen (unless moved) and is a real pain in the neck.  Why has it started doing this on the Apple desktop?  We paid to protect the Windows desktop "just in case."  But, we don't like these constant annoying messages.  Avast for Mac is NOT running (I've checked and the license has, indeed, expired).  What's causing this and how do we get rid of these messages?
