update from my server
« on: December 20, 2004, 08:47:40 AM »
hi. I have avast pro latest version and want to install it on my server. Next step i want to configure others my network computers(they have same avast version), that they will update virus database from my server not from internet, because i don't need that others computers can connect to internet. How can i do that? It is possible? ???

Hi,
I'm not an expert in this, but I think what you need is this:
http://www.avast.com/eng/adnm.html.

Otherwise, you may manually download the latest vps file from http://www.avast.com/eng/update_avast_4_vps.html and distribute a copy of it to every PC via your network, for example leave it on their desktop, so that each user double-clicks on it and this way updates his/hers avast!

You must install avast locally and update sharing the Internet connection or the vpsupd.exe file (downloadable as poited before).
