Hi baboba,
You need the right attitude and the right training. Some here that help out in the virus and worms section are qualified trained malware removal specialists and were trained at special online bootcamps, like for instance geek2go. If they want to accept you you could enroll there, you learn step by step from teaching there (oldman is such a specialist and trainer) and later you do guided malware removal routines putting into practice what you have learned, like essexboy here for instance or jeffce. While you are being trained, you must refrain from doing any malware removal routines elsewhere. Only when you are fully trained and qualified (which qualifications are being recognized all over the world wide web) you can slowly develop into a anti-malware specialist.
It is preferred when you have some programming skills and know about various script language security. But there are also specialisations. Some do computer malware cleansing, some are into "cold reconnaisance" and url- and IP-scanning to add to detection (little old me for instance like like that). Some others develop special skills in malware analysis.
I think it is better to specialize. I for instance took my initial training from the acredited searchlore guru f.ravia (he died much to early
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fravia.). His site with content is still online and worth visiting:
www.searchlores.org For learning more about script security scanning I spend quite some time on the forum site of NoScript's developer Giorgio Maone.
Well the best schooling is brought by being out in the trenches here and all the kilometers of script I worked through via de-obfuscaters and unpackers. But most worthwhile was all the inspiration I got here from experienced users here. Too many names to mention. Never say you are an expert, because the malversant is a gigantic oponent, which cannot be underestimated any moment. I hope your fingers on your keyboard may find the work that you like. Loads of success,
polonus
