Error in manual update (vpsupd.exe)
« on: August 27, 2003, 08:28:05 AM »
Hello,
I am using avast4 at home, where I have no internet connection.
To update the virus database, I tried to download vpsupd.exe
(http://www.iavs.net/iavs4pro/vpsupd.exe) and run it at home,
but I get an error box, saying just:
Error: 0x00000000
or (after the first failed attempt to run vpsupd.exe)
Error: 0x00000001

I use win xp pro sp1 and run the update program with admin rights.
Anyone can help?

Long live avast!
Oliver

I can bet you're in some non-english location, right? Spanish or italian.

That's a known bug, unfortunately. It'll be fixed in some newer version. The errors mean:
0x0 - OK, updated.
0x1 - OK, already updated.

Sorry for incovenience.

Hey kubecj, when will we change to "error messages" instead of "error codes"  ;D

OK, great to know this are not really errors!
And yes, I live in Italy.
Thanks,
