False Positive w/ VPS 452-0
« on: December 22, 2004, 01:03:09 PM »
I noticed last night when I ran a scan of my system last night that a virus was detected as a Win32.gen trojan in C:/Program Files/WinRAR/default.sfx
. I found this very odd and checked my system specifically that file with a couple of online scanners and they didn't detect anything. I noticed when I got home and turned on my laptop that a new vps had been released and I updated to the newer VPS. When I scanned the same file this time nothing was found. I just wanted to report this in case anyone else saw this. The version of WinRAR I'm running is 3.41.

Yes, unfortuntaly this was really the false alarm - see other thread in the virus section. It should be removed with toady's update 0452-1 - can you please confirm this?

thanks

Pavel
