Bleu screen's after upgrades

Since the last upgrade (4.5.459) I got severall times bleu screen's with the error
STOP : 0x000000D1 ( 0x00000000,0x00000002,0x0.......
Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL_

I work with Win2000 SP4  - IE Explorer/Outlook 6 SP1
Kerio Personal firewal 2.1.5

After several crashes I removed Avast with the removal tool from your site and the I installed it again, but the crash keep coming.

Two questions;

New is the network sheild in 4.5 can this cause the problems with my firewall ?

Where can I get the latest version before the switch to 4.5 ?

This error usually is caused by outdated CD Creator drivers or similar CD writing/reading software.  I have not seen this error with Avast

NO.  The new Avast Network Shield asks more like an intrusion detection filter than a true firewall.  There is no known conflict with Kerio.

As for obtaining an earlier version, the subject has been discussed here in the Forum, and the general consensus is that we move forward, not backward.  If an "error" arises, then we work on fixing it.

At this point, I would update all drivers and Windows OS.
Uninstall Avast using the Removal utility but DO NOT install it until you see if the system works normally.  
This way we can pinpoint the cause and assist you in a better manner.

Can you post a list of your installed programs?
Specially antivirus (other than avast), firewall, low-level applications (Norton GoBack, for instance), CD burner...

That question doesn't make any sense at all. 4.5 is the latest version. But what version do you mean exactly? (eg 4.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.5.549 etc)

The error you are getting is a driver error in about 99% of the cases. In the other 1% it is a hardware error.

You can send the latest couple of files from the \windows\minidump folder to my email address for further analysis.

VLK: Ik did send you two minidumps, I hope it will gave some details.

Eddy: I had the latest  4.1.xxx version. I always wait some time to implement a new version, this is to prefend to come on some bleeding egde area. The newer version is 4.5.549 .

Techie100 and Techother:  Only Nero 6.0.0.23 I have inside other than the mentioned kerio firewall.

Tecnical : I removed avast with your tool because I have a avast history form avast32 versions . Afther this system is workin normal and after I install avast again it comes again. I must say it s less frequently now, but still happens.

At this moment for me is the latest version 4.1.x will be good enough. Can i dowload it somewhere ?

Henry, version 4.1 is not available anymore. Anyway, I suggest we get your 4.5 working and not 'stay' at 4.1.
Lots of avast users work with the 4.5 without any problem  
Maybe we can discover (by the minidumps) what's wrong in your system...

Thanks to all ( special the avast team,and Lucas ) who helped me.

The problem in my case was that the Kerio Personal Firewall (2.1.5) is not able work with the network shield  (4.5..549) at the same time. It will sometime trap to invalid pointers.

A workable solution for me is to switch the network shield off, this could be for others not a good solution. At this moment I work with a ADSL router ( for the network control), the Kerio firewall ( for app access control) and the avast as virus scanner.

For later when I have more resources is will try to look for another firewall.
