Normally the unfixable errors are ini files which are not overly important.  If you have removed and then reinstalled net framework, I do not feel that would be the problem

I dont know to be honest haha I'm at my wit's end ! The computers performing fine as it is so you're right in that whatever is wrong can't be that important. Have to see if I can get this 'corrupted file' sorted

hmm that's weird. Sorry to be a pain haha but there is no 'Microsoft NET.Framework appearing in the list of programs and features, yet there is still a load of versions and files that look unchanged in the C: drive Net.framework folder. They are also appearing in regedit, suggesting they are still installed. I can't delete them either even though I have full admin rights. Could this be another virus or something else?

Try this small programme

This could be a .Net problem, so we will need to uninstall and then re-install .Net framework

Download Dontetfx cleanup tool. zip to your desktop
Unzip the tool
Run the exe file
Click throught the EULA popups
Select All Version

Once done reboot the computer
Download then run the Net 4.0 installer from here
Then install

Done that and the corrupted files are still being found. Absolutely cannot remove Net.framework version 2.0 which I discovered comes built into Windows 7. I think after reading around that it is becoming more and more apparent that my Windows 7 itself has become corrupt in some way...Darn it

You could try a repair tool

Download  Windows Repair (all in one)  from this site

Install the programme then run

Go to step 3 and allow it to run SFC

On the start repairs tab click start

Select the following  items and tick restart system when finished

Well that was strange. After logging in it took an inordinate amount of time for everything to load up (blank screen for ages) and when it all finally loaded up I got this error I caught in a screenshot. I will try the game reinstallation again and I can let you know how it goes later if you like  :D

System is running absolutely fine just as before. All except for this game so I'm heavily messaging them because they haven't replied in 3 days. Cant be installer, corrupt downloads because I've tried from loads of different mirrors and also deactivating windows and avast to make sure they are not interfering. Oh well thanks for your help for everything ! :D

Just used a recovery disk to completely get my laptop back to how it was before. That includes that new Os of Vista *Sigh* but nonetheless everything is working now including the game. Don't know what it could have been but no problems whatsoever anymore and once again thanks for all the help you gave me !  ;D
