I did disable Oracle in IE9 add-ons.

After installing IE10 they were enabled.

regards
If you want to disable it in your browser then the best route is via the Java UI in control panel under the security tab, If you had disabled java in this way then it wouldn't have been activated again with the install of IE10.

Anyone else seeing this? When I go to the IE homepage, It says I'm using the Release Preview.

It should install over the top, as you have the preview it should offer it in windows updates

One thing is that it is not full screen like it is in Win8. It looks exactly like IE9.

I'm getting the same Release preview message, I'm wondering if this was actually just another preview update and the RTM version will come out in a few weeks like it was supposed too ???

I just tried running the update from that same page where it mentions I'm using the preview and the installer tells me it can't continue because the version on the system is newer than the recommended update from that page so there is a glitch somewhere in what is being reported to that webpage.

Rather wait for a good adblocker in IE10? Oh, you can install that via the Tracking Protection List and choose to install EasyList Standard, the same that is being used by Adblock Plus. How?
Quote
Block advertisement in Internet Explorer 10- To get started, click on the settings icon on the top right of the Internet Explorer window and select Safety > Tracking Protection from the context menu that opens up.-Click on the Get a tracking protection list online which opens a web page on the Internet Explorer Gallery where you can add lists to the browser that block advertisement in the browser.

I still have not seen the Win7 Platform Update listed in Windows Update and now I know why. It is installed as part of the IE10 upgrade. I was wondering what it meant while the installation of IE10 was running when it said that necessary updates were being downloaded and then applied. From a Google search it is evident that it was the platform updates that got applied. I can't find any information about which files get updated by the platform update so I could check and confirm that it did in fact occur.

I just got word and confirmation regarding about this? I do have a forum account from Microsoft answers. So I went there to ask them regarding IE10 and why we are getting the Release Preview instead we installed the RTM version.. One of the guys told me it's just a landing page and to disregrad it.

You did not get the preview version. If you click on the gear icon for tools and then on "About Internet Explorer", it will say that you have the RTM version.
