Poll: How do you like Avast V8?

Just a question about the software updater.On mine it just shows IE and adobe flashplayer.Can programs be manually added to this list because at the minute the software updater is useless if it only updates those 2 things.

It's always disconcerting when old friends change - like Avast. I am not fond of the Windows 8 look but suppose I will adjust.

Still fumbling around on the new layout. I kind of like the software update thigamajoo because Firefox decided for me that Java was 'known to be vulnerable' and kindly disabled it for me, which means I can't run Secunia.

Somehow I manage to cope. I'm pretty conscientious about keeping stuff up to date on the old computer machine.

So, no likey the new layout! But still love Avast! Has kept my machine virus free for years now. Thanks, Avast!

Also,  to Arnold72 - I have at least 10 programs on my software update thingamabob - not sure why you have only two. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than yours truly can chime in.

There is one page of win8 style tiles, I'm probably one of the biggest detractors of Win8 and its Metro Modern Layout Tiles. Windows 8 it designed for touch screens and that is what I don't like about it with a desktop system with 27" screen, so I'm unlikely to get win8.

But avast has to be compatible with win8 so it has the single tiled screen, do I like it no, but just use the other pages as the innards are pretty standard not tiled interface.

Please make it so that the software updater can be permanently disabled.  It tells porkies.  For example, I have Adobe Reader 9.5.4 installed and it tells me to update to Adobe Reader 9.5.4.

There is at least one more option  that should have bene on the voting pole,

As many have posted the new UI is ugly.  The windows metro look is absolutely terrible, I have to wear my shades just to view the UI (too bright), and I don't know if it's me or if it's the font, but it looks a bit fuzzy.   

Some suggestions;

1. Get rid of the windows metro look
2. Return to Avast! v7 color scheme
3. Fix font?

I alway say its not the interface that protect you but the shields... I dont know why people dont like the new interface but i find it nice...

Of course you know people dislike the new UI, they have posted their reason for it.  It's a personal preference thing.  I don't recall anyone posting anything about the UI "protecting" them or believing as such, rather it is the UI we (people who don't like it) have the problem with.

You may like UI, it but doesn't mean everyone else does.  Again it's personal preference thing.

I meant that the UI is not a protection part of the program. I think if im not wrong we call it metro UI i guess its maybe because it is customized for Windows 8 users if im not wrong.

Yes its a personal preference thing but im wondering why change to version 7 just for that... Its like if i hate version 5-8 of avast and then i go back to 4.8... This put me to risks.
