As we have just released our new major version (V8), we would love to hear your feedback. So, how did we do?

It's great. I love it.
191 (28.4%)
So far so good. It is an improvement over V7 but we will see.

About the same as V7

I don't like the new version. Where can I get the download links for V7?

I block most of the Google stuff with the site blocking feature in avast, I haven't tried blocking googleanalytics  yet though ( not sure what would happen ) can try I suppose.

I added *.googleanalytics.* and run a bunch of websites with no ill effect.

Google Analyatics is on most webpages, avast is just scanning it.

Now my question is why you keep insisting people are caring more for UI than the actual protection.  To my recollection of reading the previous posts, prior to my own first in this thread, no one has posted anything like that.  People just post about features/changes they (including me) dislike but that's what this thread is about, our feedback to v8.

Thank you for Avast 8(free).  Only problem I have is I can't see all of the Avast 8 page on my netbook.  I can live with it,but thought I would report.

I installed my two home computers and my mom's home computer with Avast 8(free).  I did have to change the settings on our Outlook Express6, with the help of the message that Avast presented at the Avast update. Now Avast is scanning our emails, SSL and google has been deleted from the email settings.  Works like a champ now.

I appreciate Avast team.  Thanks for your hard work. :D

I don't like it. Upgrading from version 7 caused a BSOD on my XP PRO SP3. At this stage, the only solution was to downgrade to Avast 7. So far, the help desk has not been helpful. First bad experience with Avast.

We have to get used to ... IMO v7 was perfect (speaking about GUI only) but v8 for me is well laid out, and as I started testing it since 1st beta, I easily got used to big buttons ...
