I just ran a full system scan after Avast informed me that a threat (trojan horse) was detected. Lots of files could not be scanned and I have attached a screen shot of the scan results. Does this seem like something I should be concerned about? Should I run a boot time scan? Thanks in advance

These files are nothing to do with the detection you had, they are just files that can't be scanned and the reason why.

Files that can't be scanned are just that, not an indication they are suspicious/infected, just unable to be scanned.

Many programs (usually security based ones) password protect their files for legitimate reasons, there are others (and avast doesn't know the password or have any way of using it even if it did know it).

By examining 1) the reason given by avast! for not being able to scan the files, 2) the location of the files, you can get an idea of what program they relate to (in this case they appear to be related to a Flash player update).
