I am too in cloudless area it seems. Streaming updates notgoing trough even if the connection is established. Which actually isn't right now to be honest. At least the normal VPS are regular.

EDIT: Didn't get a single one till yesterday.

Streaming updates not working for me since yesterday... doesn't feel good. Is Avast working on fixing this?

Yes me too it's not working ...
Just wait until they fix this as they are many changes going on with the backend ... (Dyna Gen just an example of an upcoming stuff).

It is now going on 24 hours since the last streaming update. My question is would you feel secure doing online banking or online shopping or doing your tax return online?

Yes,it is 24 hours without Streaming Updates and I am not feeling so secure online.
If you ask me,I think Streaming Updates are the best Avast feature.

The streaming updates are over and above the regular virus definitions updates. When a new virus definitions update is available it also contains the previous streaming updates. So you aren't missing out if the streaming updates experience any issues, you just get them with the regular virus definition updates, just not as quickly.

The 1st thing I do after installing avast is disable the streaming updates..........Checking at every boot and 3-6hrs thereafter is more than sufficient.

I would not worry that much. if you have not noticed it yet, but streamming updates, go missing most of the time Avast! releases an upgrade. In this case it would be BETA 1484.

Same boat - not a single stream update for last 24 hours. But I still feel secure as I have latest VPS

The fact that the VPS updates come 1-2 times a day.
It certainly is not critical, but still ... it is a problem.

I can confirm also, no streaming update since: 3/30/2013  9:17:31AM
However as DavidR has mentioned the latest VPS update will carry everything needed for up to date  security. :)

I'm not sure it's that simple. If Cloud connection is down, then so is FileRep, meaning there won't be any FileRepMalware detections, there won't be any reputation warnings. That seems like a bigger issue than it appears at first...
