I partly intend this post as a warning to potential customers: Avast may delete your VPN ID without any reason and uses your credit card number to charge you until the cows come home (or you cancel your credit card). At least this is what's happening to me.
My story....
In January I purchased the Avast VPN client and chose the monthly auto-renewal option. It worked well for 4 months. After my May renewal (which I got the receipt for) my ID suddenly disappeared from Avast and I could no longer logon. When I attempt to connect I get the message "your ID does not exist on the server".
I have spent the past 2-3 weeks calling Avast, opening tickets online and sending them emails, none of which resulted in ANY support whatsoever. Their helpdesk is utterly useless, in fact dumb to the point where they don't even know what an ID and password is and what a customer means by "I can't log in". They qualify to be placeholders but have ZERO skill any IT related area as far as I can tell. They also have ZERO willingness to help.
Anyway, after many unsuccessful attempts to get some useful assistance from them I started turning to them with the request to just delete my account and give me refund for the one month I paid for but got no service. These requests, as well as the previous ones, went unanswered. Avast is not willing/able to assist paying Secureline customers in any shape or form but apparently they still want my money.
I can access my profile online and managed to disable my auto-renewal, however I don't know if that even does anything. I am unable to change the password for my account and unable to have my account renewed or remove my personal information from it.
Warning: Avast may be a bunch of fraud artists so be careful with them!
I am getting ready to cancel the credit card in question.
