Password Protected?
« on: October 25, 2013, 11:21:17 PM »
I recently ran a virus scan using Avast. It found several files (about 25) that are password protect, therefore the scan could not verify if the files are affected or not.

Is this normal for Windows to have password protected files, that scans cannot read, or are these virus protected files that I need to destroy?

Thanks for anybody's help.

Yes that is correct, as Avast does not know the password it cannot access the file..  However, as soon as the files are accessed Avast will scan them :)
