Streaming updates
« on: May 01, 2014, 01:26:15 PM »
Hi,
I just noticed that my 'virus definitions' have not updated since yesterday (around 5:30 EST). The last version to update was 140430-2. Avast! says I'm connected and that everything is up to date. Should I just wait this out since it's a new month?

It seems the Avast streaming servers are down, as I've also not received streaming updates since 5:06 PM April 30.

With nothing else running that would access the internet, TCPview shows AvastSvc.exe connecting to r-062-042-234-077.ff.avast.com which I am guessing is an attempt by Avast to retrieve streaming updates, or check for VPS updates.  This shows up with no other connections showing in TCPview
AMD A6-5350M APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 8.0GB RAM, Win7 Pro SP1 64bit, IE11
i7-3610QM 2.3GHZ, 8.0GB Ram,  Nvidia GeForce GT 630M 2GB, Win7 Pro SP1 64bit, IE 11
Common to both: Avast Premium Security 19.7.2388, WinPatrol Plus, SpywareBlaster 5.5, Opera 12.18, Firefox 68.0.2, MBam Free, CCleaner

No streaming updates going on 21 hours. I really like Avast but this is quite dangerous.

Indeed, the fact they haven't come out and said something about it yet is shocking.

Not really. They are more than likely working on the problem.
