Updating podcasts = fails

Hi all, I have been using Avast Free for years with no problems but suddenly all my podcasts have stopped working and only if I disable Avast do they update .. I use standard settings since I am not an experienced user and I do not understand why they ( the podcasts) now fails .. I am not happy about having to disable Avast to make the work, but now they do solve this? I also do not understand that once I have confirmed my membership I still have to confirm my posting via Verification?

As for the problem, see if a repair solves it.
control panel > software > avast > add/remove > choose repair > reboot (after the repair is finished ofcourse)
