I need help. As much help as you can offer.
« on: July 01, 2014, 04:13:45 PM »
Well my computer's bad. Usually when people hear this they say "no you just need to clean up some-" No. It's really bad. The beginning of my problems started long ago when my computer started blue screening randomly. On startup it would Blue screen and randomly when I would manage to turn the thing on. Sometimes my computer would stay on the whole day, sometimes it would Bluesceeen 65 times a day. Little more than a year after these occurrences, I was dumb enough to ignore it for a year, I got really sick of it because it was costing me. So I screen shot the blue screen and asked for help. Image for the curious (https://s.yimg.com/hd/answers/i/74d11993b8ae4355a135cddfbc58d7a7_A.jpeg?a=answers&mr=0&x=1404230496&s=2552a251ef3b35759228540242e0e9c0)
I was told that it was a simple hardware/software malware that I should just remove, so I went through my programs, uninstalled all the fishy ones (I searched them all before uninstalling to make sure they weren't dire to the computer). The next step required me to run a scan with my anti-virus. I didn't have one so I downloaded avast. To run a scan, I had to restart my computer so I did. Ok start up avast ran the scan and I thought I was finally done with this blue screen nonsense ( after the 3 hour long scan) I finally logged in but was greeted with this.

I tried moving one of my desktop icons and instant Bluesceeen. After hours of waiting I managed to log in again, get greeted by the same message and now I can't move anything on my desktop, I get a starting error when trying to go to my documents or open things from the desktop. I CAN open things from the start menu but I get blue screened garunteed in a couple of seconds. I really need help. Avast says it is unable to start when I try opening it half of the times and my computer is even worse since I ran the scan. I really need to know what happened and what I can do please.

Hi,

Don't need to attach logs, just follow my instructions straight away. Disable Avast before running Zoek.

Please download zoek.zip or zoek.rar by smeenk () from here or here and save it to your Desktop.
Unpack the archive...
  • Close any open browsers
  • Temporarily disable your AntiVirus program. (If necessary)
    If you are unsure how to do this please read this or this Instruction.

  • Double click on zoek.exe to run the tool .
    Please wait for the tool to start...

  • Copy the text present inside the code box below and paste it into the large window in the zoek tool:
Code: [Select]
createsrpoint;
gpt.ini;z
C:\Windows\System32\GroupPolicy;v
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\GroupPolicy;v
StandardSearch;
installer-list;
installedprogs;
uninstall-list;
  • Click on button.
    Please wait until a logreport will open (this can be after reboot)

  • Save notepad to your Desktop and attach here zoek-results.log
    Note: It will also create a log in the C:\ directory named "zoek-results.log"

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x64 and save it to a flash drive.
  • Plug the flashdrive into the infected PC.
  • Restart your computer and tap F8 to bring up the Advanced Menu, then click Repair your computer
  • Follow the prompt to enter keyboard input method, and then the prompt to enter a password. If the machine does not have a password, simply click Enter.
In the next menu, use the arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight Command Prompt and press Enter.
  • In the command window type in notepad and press Enter.
  • When notepad opens, click File and select Open.
  • Select "Computer" and find your flash drive letter and close the notepad.
  • In the command window type e:\frst64.exe and press Enter.
Note: Replace letter e with the drive letter of your flash drive.
  • The tool will start to run. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the flash drive. Please attach it to your reply.
