Most newer computers use a recover partition not a disc. :)

You create your own rescue disk. It's a Windows function:

How can I create a rescue disk on my new computer when it isn't working?

Like all tools to help you when you run into a problem, they need to be created before you have a problem.
If you don't do that, you wind up with a real problem instead of an inconvenience.

Had I created a rescue disk on my new computer before it got so messed up I doubt that would help me now.

Installed 6 updates on Windows 7. Everything is fine. No problems with Avast.

Edit :
There was a Reputation Warning from Avast for one of the updates. I believe it was for Malicious Removal Tool.

Latest word for the Fall Windows 10 update is 11/12 possibly 11/11.
Today is only for regular patch Tues. stuff. :)

You go to Windows Update and click on "Advanced Options". Then you choose "View your update history".

I just read that the big update is now scheduled for the 12th of November.
