I have yet to see the Fall update for Windows 10. Some suggest that manual intervention may be required. Anyone agree? http://www.windowscentral.com/use-media-creation-tool-update-windows10

You're not alone, another user has also reported that the fall update has not been offered/received yet. ???
You can try a manual upgrade using the media creation tool. I had to use that route a week ago as I didn't want to wait to see if upgrade would come through.
Unfortunately, another user tried the manual process but it failed to install I believe.

Use the following directly from  Microsoft to do a manual install:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
This included the 11-15 Fall update. :)

Good luck because that does not work for me. The installation fails.

Then there's a compatibility problem with your system.
I've used this method on dozens of systems including my own without hassles or problems.

Installed 16 win updates on my win 8.1 pc, 13 on win 7 with no issues.  When I checked for updates on my win 7 computer it was going to install win 10 which I don't want on that pc, clicked on the link and hid it.

Installed 10 updates on Windows 7. No problems with Avast.
KB3104002 (Cumulative Security Update for IE 11) failed, but it was installed fine in second attempt.

I only had 2 updates for Windows 10. One cumulative and one for the flash player. Then there were 8 for Office. I'm not counting the malware removal tool.

One of the updates partially reset Internet Explorer which I am using as my default browser. Chrome is no longer installed so I only have IE and Edge. I'd like to use Edge but it still feels unfinished.

My Windows version is now 1511 build 10586.29

If it's already installed, you can uninstall it, for it's the Windows offer to install W 10!
