Could you let me know what problems you have after this

CAUTION :  This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Quote
CreateRestorePoint:
EmptyTemp:
CMD: bitsadmin /reset /allusers

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe

Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that

THEN

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
  • Close all open programs and internet browsers.
  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on Scan.
  • After the scan is complete click on "Clean"
  • Confirm each time with Ok.
  • Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
  • Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
  • You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.

You had nearly 6GB of junk files, so could you run disc defrag and see if there is an improvement

I performed the defrag. I can't really tell a difference, but let me run it for 24 hrs and let you know if it's better or the same. Thanks!

OK we will use clean boot first
After the reboot check your normal programmes and let me know how it is

In the search box type Msconfig and select the programme that appears at the top

1.In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click Selective Startup on the General tab.

2.Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
NoteThe Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.
3.Click the Services tab.
4.Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.

5.Click Disable All, and then click OK.
6.When you are prompted, click Restart.

When I click "disable all" and then "ok", it doesn't prompt me to restart. So I went back in and it re-checked the "Load start-up items" and all the things I "disabled" were enabled... I tried it again and manually reset the computer (hoping I was just over thinking it all). I'll let you know how it goes after a bit of use.
