The free version also?
Yepperz.
I don't know why anyone would want to eliminate the task bar, I use it a lot in XP Pro, especially the Quick Launch were I have the five programs or files I launch shortly after boot. I also create a few Toolbars to place on it for quick access to reference files, utilities, etc.
I do use RocketDock also, but that isn't so flexible as ObjectDock, but it is free. However it doesn't have the function to hide the taskbar, nor does it have a group function so it is one icon for each application/function/Docklet (one thing I would like).
To each his own sir! (I like to keep the taskbar area clear to have room for open programs, and I have the dock hidden away with all my "commonly used" programs for quick access. Such as cmd prompt, notepad, word, outlook, 3 browsers, file sharing programs, messengers, remote desktop, media player, A/V and Malware, etc) all separated out in different groups to keep it organized.
Really though Tech, you should try it out. The free version is quite nice, just dig through the configuration options, there really is a lot you can do with it. You can position it anywhere, hide it off-screen when not in use, change the font, change the icons, and the paid version has even more (I've never used the paid version though, the free version gives me what I need).
Please start a new thread for lengthy discussions. Thanks.
Sorry Bob!
