I used to build and upgrade my own systems and I thought that was a pain - god only knows how much pain and time went into this. His system has less clutter than mine, cables all over the place ;D

You want to see what they have at avast in the virus labs CPUs aren't fast enough they have systems with even more GPUs not for graphics as such for for processing power.

This was some time ago I just wonder what they have now.

I think some of their servers have GTX Titans if im not mistaken, and server run of CentOS mostly i believe.
Good OS but you have to keep them updated or youll be hacked really fast, and thats the problem on most firms, reliability comes before security.

The company hosting avast IP's must have a whole server farm.

This is for avast.com and only avast.com Does not include the blog or the forums.

I could speak about the dangers of having large netblock ranges but that would be getting way off topic.
It would also involve a rather long dissertation about how to use and read and/or understand multiple online scanners.
That dissertation would probably not be understood by most users.

I can tell you that the IsThisFileSafe server runs Server 2008R2 and that it will be replaced with a 2012R2 server soon :)

Of Emsisoft of course.
