Oh, sorry then.
You were actually right though.
Seriously, you people still maintain avast! 4.8 ? FOR WHAT!? It's just draining your resources. Let it go already.

+1.Let it go.
Chuck it in the bin
It is, but this is ridiculous. They've been killing this thing for years and now I see they still waste resources on it.

After May 31st, 2015, Avast will no longer provide patches or technical support for versions 8.0.1497 and lower.
Hello,
we know about the issue and we are working on a fix.
Milos
Stop wasting time and hard work on a dead Avast!4.8.Avast! should also stop virus definition updates for Old Avast! versions.
Gentlemen, I am using Windows XP x64, and Avast 4.8 works wonderfully on it, it's probably the most unobtrusive and most effective virus program for this platform. And Windows XP is far from dead. It will be supported with security updates until 2019. Yes, I still use Windows 7 on my laptop and gaming computer, but I MUST have Windows XP on my productivity machine. Anything later is just counterintuitive and impedes my productivity.
So please understand why I'm so grateful to Avast for continuing to maintain 4.8.
Also, please consider that Avast most likely has enterprise customers with LAN servers who do not want to update software, and are probably still paying for their enterprise licenses. So that's another reason why it's still being maintained.
Milos, thanks for your wonderful work over the years. I hope to continue using version 4.8 for many years to come!
