ADNM using SQL Server 2k5 ???
« on: January 29, 2006, 10:28:45 PM »
Hi everybody,

I have had the opportunity to do some testing this weekend. When switching from SQL Server 2k to 2k5 ADNM (better: AMS service) will stop working  :( . And you will be not able to start it. Log file from eventlog says error A410, seems like ADNM is expecting SQL Version 2000 (internal version 8 ) with at least SP3.  ???

The interesting point is:

If You start AMS without having SQL Server 2k5 running, then wait some minutes and start SQL Server 2k5 ADNM is working without problems.  ;) Although AMS Maintenance when using Check DB says Database is compatible, it is definitely not possible to do a new install, delete or create the database with SQL Server 2005.

So if one the developers has a little time: please fix AMS startup to accept SQL Server 2k5 and fix the installer and AMS Maintenance to use SQL Server 2k5. Everything else is working fine ....  ;D

Have a nice week and don't try to argue the users to much

With kind regards from Germany,

Thanks for your report. We're aware of the issue. The upcoming update (due in a couple of days) should solve this. Please stay tuned :)
