Apologies if already noted here somewhere...

Symantec's latest Norton Utilities is "badge engineered" PC Tools product(s).

Why waste money on overrated junk?

Defraggler file and Folder defragger:
http://www.defraggler.com

DiskTune now displays the temperature of the host on which the selected
logical volume is located. DiskTune 1.0.46 should be able to access more
files, and I've added some indicators that show if DiskTune is running,
stopped, moving files etc:

Google JkDefrag.

Hi Kenny,

Sorry to ask this but can you give more info on DiskTune. I did a search for it on Download.com and found nothing. I'm looking for a review if possible.

Also, why do you use a third party de-fragmenter. Is it better than Windows own built in utility?

Thanks

Why limit your search to download.com use google and see what that brings.

45,000 hits, http://www.google.com/search?q=DiskTune, see http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Hard-Disk-Utils/DiskTune.shtml.

The U.S. Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra, appointed by President Obama last week, has been placed on leave,
following an FBI raid yesterday at the District of Columbia's IT offices.

I see that other references are given for DiskTune.

On my Vista system the built in defrag only runs once per week which is good for most people but I choose to defrag more frequently than that so I watch for applications that assist with this.

I like Defraggler but I do not let it defrag the whole hard drive but only the files that I choose after an Analyze as they are the files that I use most frequently so I like to keep them speedy through them not being fragmented:

Ah,

I see. That makes sense. I have noticed that for Vista de-fragmentation makes a huge difference in terms of speed. So I see why you use it on more frequently used files. The whole process with vista's built-in tool is too long.

Thanks.
