Why ?

It is meant to be compatible with other AVs.
Since I had run this application without any problems in the past and because of Davids comment,
I decided to re-install ImmunetProtect.
After installation, I allowed it to do a check of the programs running in memory.
Big mistake the first thing it did was kill avast!6 IS which was running on this system.
Then it killed WWWFilesharePro which runs MySharedFiles.
I thought that avast! was protected from an outright kill but apparently not.
I also couldn't restore the avast! program from their quarantine files.

It's a good thing that I had a fairly recent image to restore my system.
My advice is to stay away from Immunet till it learns that avast1 isn't a virus.

Ashampoo warns of security breach

"Software company Ashampoo has been forced to issue a warning to customers after one of its servers was hacked. While no financial or credit-card information was taken, Ashampoo is keen to stress this information was not held on this server, hackers are believed to have obtained names and email addresses."

I remember at one time there were people on these forums testing their products, so this is a heads up.

Yeah, immunet is not very good.... And has tooooo many conflicts......Instead of immunet, MSE is good choice

So why didn't Google include system utilities like ccleaner or iobit products....

Thanks Bob, so much for their claim of compatibility.

MSE shouldn't be used with avast either, 2 av's is a no no.

Well as someone mentioned, essexboy I think, given Microsoft's OS knowledge it should be able to repair system issues, etc. Perhaps that same knowledge might well mean being able to load a kernel level driver, in which case it can pretty much do what it wants.

Unfortunately we know nothing about its workings and I rather doubt that it is going to divulge how it works.

This had nothing to do with Microsoft. It was Immunet Protect that killed avast! and simply bypassed the self defense shield.  :o
