There is something in their numbers that makes me uncomfortable to believe them...
They oscillate very very much. The number of checked computers are small compared to the total market.
But, after all, I did not find any other market share information... avast team has just said, one time, that the numbers could be biased because, in one time, avast would have more computers in US than Symantec and they acknowledge that is not true.

Number of times downloaded doesn't mean much really. I have downloaded it at least three times myself but am not using it on either machine at this time.

What Chromebooks can and can’t do
I can tell you from personal experience that it takes some time to get used to this.
I can also tell you that for some things there's nothing faster or easier than the test cr-48 that I've been beta testing
for several month. (What I miss is not having avast! 6 on this computer to help protect me.  :) )
Currently there are also commercial versions available :
Samsung and Acer Chromebooks

Skype Coming to Comcast TV's Later This Year
http://www.tomsguide.com/us/Skype-Comcast-VoIP-Video-calling-Neil-Smit,news-11517.html

Later this year, Comcast will offer a Skype bundle including an HD webcam, an adapter box with Skype pre-loaded, and a modified cable box remote with a QWERTY keyboard..

Wish I could get comcast again (gasp! I actually said that?).  Well, better than Armstrong anyway!

You Can Now 'Google' With Your Voice and Photos

http://www.tomsguide.com/us/google-image-voice-recognition-search,news-11522.html

The voice recognition isn't all that new, and for voice dialing it's a gimmick in my opinion.

The image search could be interesting though.  Suppose you were hiking and saw a plant that looked like poison ivy, but you weren't sure?  Take a snap of it, upload to google and find out.

Similarly, I suppose you could take a pic of a snake and find out if it were poisonous.

Oh, chrome extension available here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dajedkncpodkggklbegccjpmnglmnflm

Ooh, I'm on a roll today aren't I?

RAM? no, it's CAM.  There's a difference:
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/CAM-RAM-spintronics-pc-memory,12940.html

Still waiting for the memristor though, don't know when either one of these will find their way into consumer products, but I can't wait until they do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memristor

Televation: http://www.tomsguide.com/us/televation-streaming-media-comcast-time-warner-Cable-Card,news-11516.html

Wirelessly stream your TV to any IP device.

I think I need to stop reading Tom's news now and get back to work.  It would help if someone replied to my post to remove some malware though...  ;)

When I see it in mass production I will believe it.

NEC, university make CAM-on-MRAM progress

http://new.eetimes.com/electronics-news/4216907/NEC--Tohoku-University-make-CAM-on-MRAM-progress?Ecosystem=embedded-internet-design

NVE has owned a lot of MRAM patents for ages with nothing much to come of MRAM.  I ain't holding my breadth on CAM-on-MRAM

Quote
MRAM Technology

NVE is a leading provider of technology and intellectual property for revolutionary Magnetoresistive Random Access Memories (MRAM). MRAM has been called "the ideal memory," potentially combining the density of DRAM with the speed of SRAM and non-volatility of flash memory or disk. NVE’s MRAM licensees have included Motorola, Inc., Honeywell International, and Cypress Semiconductor Corporation.

The company is also developing low-density MRAM to be manufactured by NVE for specialized applications such as tamper prevention and detection.

Hate to break it to ya...but...
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=19387.msg635520#msg635520

Kinda pointless imho...since it needs higher than XP...it would only be useful if it was to be used on xp systems to let them know...
