That is really going to take some time getting used to. No taskbar, no start button, no desktop and a tile for every application on the start screen? Wow, I'm not sure I like that unless there is a way to only show the ones you use the most like you can now with desktop icons.

It is actually the behavior monitoring component of Emsisoft Anti-malware. It's basically a HIPS application and from all reports works well alongside of Avast free. It is definitely not snake oil but rather a well known and well respected security tool. It most likely would enhance your safety from zero day things  but, like all HIPS type applications, at the cost of loss of usability and convenience in your computer usage. If you want that extra protection that you may never need it would be a good choice. I myself, will pass since I don't like obtrusive HIPS programs.

If you don't have a HIPS type application, which Avast is not, then it gives you that. It could potentially give you a lot better zero day protection.

Dch48,
I'll let you try it and if in 6 month you're still happy with it, let me know and I'll give it a try.  ;D

LOL, not me, I had my fill of HIPS after using the full Comodo package for a year and getting nothing but alerts for safe and necessary actions by safe applications. If you like HIPS, Mamutu may be for you, but for me, no thanks.

I was just saying that it's known that a HIPS based program will most likely give you better zero day protection but at a cost in convenience and usability. For  gamers, it can be a major hassle and even a nightmare.

IE Wins Malware-Blocking Tests

"The in-house reputation system used in Internet Explorer 8 and 9 is markedly superior at blocking social-engineering attacks than the Google equivalent used by Chrome, Firefox, Apple's Safari, an independent test by NSS Labs has found."
