Microsoft Security Essentials Beta Program Sign Up

"The new version of Microsoft Security Essentials comes with a new protection engine offering enhanced detection and cleanup capabilities. One of the improvements in this regard is automatic malware remediation, which basically means that the security application can clean “high-impact malware infections automatically” without user interaction."

It also says the new MSE will have a simplified user interface, which I find hard to believe as the interface is already VERY easy to use.

Here's a full list of the changes.

Be advised that now you may experience problems with System Restore. Office 2010 is known to conflict with the Shadow Copy Service and try to create restore points for the mysterious Q drive that is created. This often causes restore points to become corrupted and unusable. I would highly recommend using Office 2007 instead.
