I got the December MBAM newsletter this morning about the forthcoming 1.6 version and there is an offer with that. MBAM now have a partner deal with Acronis.

So if anyone was looking for a Hard disk imaging software you can get (pre-order) MBAM Pro 1.6 and Acronis True Image for $24.95. Shame I already have MBAM Pro, but almost worth it to get the deal on Acronis. Offer ends 31 December 2011.

I haven't checked to see if this offer is on the MBAM site.

I bought a lic. for MBAM Pro some time back when they had one of their specials.
Since I never used it, this was as good a time as any. :)

Yes, I have two pro licenses, but I was thinking it is a good deal for true image even without the mbam pro license.

Whilst I'm happy with my old Drive Image software on winXP it is old and not compatible with win7, so I'm using the normal win7 backup function. But I really am not confident in it I like the greater flexibility of the drive imaging software.

You don't have to worry about the image backup created by Windows 7  I can personally attest to
it's ability to get you out of a jam.  ;D

Don't mind Bob, he just has a bad history with Comodo, Mad Mileh does not like him. ;)

Well the difference is Comodo is a AV which is avast competition where as Malwarebytes is not an AV, it is designed to compliment your antivirus.

So i believe Bob was justified in what he said, but if this were an update notification to just the firewall then that would be fine but the notice should also be placed in the updates thread.

You don't have to use the AV part of Comodo. You can use just the Firewall if you wish to. I do agree though that CIS is a competitor to AIS. The notice of the new Comodo version was posted in the Updates board a few days ago and that's where it belongs, if anywhere.
