If it isn't a security risk, then why claim it as "evidence of IE9's superiority" if it is such a benign event.

However, it may not just be the deletion of temporary files but the compression of other databases to improve performance and reduce wasted space. So they wouldn't want to do that whilst the program is running and those files are in use.

David, the superiority part was said mostly in jest. People here just don't recognize humor very well. I think it's a bug in CCleaner. Or maybe it isn't and IE does not need to be shut down which I would consider a point in it's favor.

Rufus a Free Portable Tool to Create Bootable USB Drive
Rufus is so you don't need to install it. Just run its EXE file and you are ready to create bootable USB drive.
Also once formatted using this tool, your USB drive is still usable as before to transfer data.
It doesn't have to be dedicated for DOS or installation only.
(Thanks to askVG for point out this useful tool.)

Since Skype is owned by Microsoft, that doesn't come as a great surprise.  ;D

not really as a surprise no ;D ... but it's still good to know that another platform (Windows Phone) joined the club. As I find it always good when a piece of software is compatible with any OS ;)

Something new for Gmail users:

I used to avoid clicking on email links on the web because an application on my computer that I never used would pop up and interrupt me.
Instead, I would copy the email address, switch to Gmail, click compose and paste it in.
Now, when you go to Gmail in Chrome, you will be asked if you want Gmail to open all email links. Say yes, and clicking on email links
in any application on your computer will open a fresh Gmail compose window.

That's a bit different, Chrome register itself as your default mail client too, it means if in another application click on a email link, it will open up in Chrome.

It has been my experience that clicking on an email link anywhere will always pop up whatever is your default mail option, no matter what it is. I fail to see the need for that program.

It takes for ever to wait for either outlook, outlook express or, live mail to pop up.
Gmail's action is almost instantaneous.

So I guess there is a reason some of us are happy for this gmail ability.  ;D

I guess but I have always hated the interfaces of any web based email I have ever tried. Yahoo has to be the worst and talk about spam! Yahoo is the only one I can't get to work in either Outlook Express or Windows Mail. As a consequence and because of the massive spam problem, I don't use the Yahoo address and only check it maybe once a month. GMX, Gmail, and Hotmail are all collected through POP3 and I prefer to do it that way.

DCH48,
No one said you had to use it.
This a notification that the feature is available.
If you don't want to use it, than the notice doesn't affect you and I guess not directed at you.
