What would be wrong with adding it to the favorites?

Be my guest, it's your computer.

Seems ThreatFire continues to be a NO-NO...

Still no rootkit protection and the interface is littered with ads. Didn't even last five minutes on my laptop.

Is it true that MSE comes pre-installed on Windows 8? I thought it just had a better version of Windows Defender but not the complete MSE program.  I also agree that Avast should be #1, even without the firewall.  ;)

Dch48, I've heard and read here on forum what you're saying. That WD will be preinstalled, not MSE.

It is however an expanded WD which includes antivirus protection.

I spend a lot of time on the road and use a lot of "free" Wifi.
I've just started to use DNSCrypt to help make that Open (Public) Wifi a little safer.

WinPatrol Alerting me of a new startup program:

Download Now:
Download DNSCrypt for Mac
Download DNSCrypt for Windows

How many of you have tried DNSCrypt ???  Any freedback ???

Ashampoo Giveaway
« Reply #3311 on: June 28, 2012, 09:30:23 AM »
Ashampoo is giving away free full versions of some of their programs. The one I chose is Burning Studio 2012 which is an upgrade from the 2010 version and includes Blu-Ray support. It also has a pretty nice labeling module which includes the ability to burn Lightscribe labels if you install the Lightscribe software and of course have a drive that is Lightscribe enabled. The link I'm posting should work but if it doesn't let me know. There is another link that requires you to have a Facebook account and log in there first. I'm hoping the link I'm posting will bypass that. Either way though, you do have to create an account with Ashampoo to get the full license key unless the same key works for everyone like it did the last time.

My thought is that whatever functions and abilities it contains, continuing to call it 'Windows Defender' is a move aimed at defusing any further anti--competitive behaviour talk.
