hi Andyonline,

That is actually a very good question.

No need to sort anything unless you have hard drive encryption software installed on your system, which is what OPSWAT is reporting that you do not have here.  No encryption software, 0 encryption found.

What is file encryption ?  https://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=les%3B&gs_nf=3&cp=16&gs_id=8v&xhr=t&q=file+encryption+software&pf=p&tbo=d&sclient=psy-ab&oq=file+encryption+&gs_l=&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=9c1c7a74a90eb2f8&bpcl=38897761&biw=1280&bih=887

For normal home usage, file encryption is not needed or necessary.  For less than advanced users, it can be a rat trap one cannot get out of.

I got 88 which i think is pretty good as I dont really need the hard drive encryption which scores me lower.

Thanks Bob !

I got 85 because I have Utorrent installed and because I haven't done a full Avast scan in ages. It also only gives Avast a bronze certification  :(

hi Dch48.

Same thing here re Avast!.  OPSWAT is a little behind the curve atm, imo.  85 here also, no Utorrent installed though.  btw, do not have any use for that sort even if a million (or billion) dollars was offered here.

inSSIDer v2.1 scans all the available Wireless Access Points surrounding your computer and, displays information about each of those networks.
You can't fix your WiFi problems unless you can figure out where they exist.

Very good utility. I discovered other networks using the same channel so I changed mine and my Wi-Fi speed went up dramatically

Must be beta. According to my math, I come up with 80. It shows 90. Detailed view of antiphishing shows 20 of 20. Chart shows 10 of 20.

Not particularly impressed by this tool as it simply isn't accurate.

It gave me 20 out of 20 for Backup, based on the fact that I have dropbox (which I have about a couple of dozen files on), It doesn't actually pick up my backup (disk imaging) software.

It only gives 23 out of 30 for anti virus as it hasn't detected a full system scan in the last 7 days, pointless on-demand scan. It still says avast anti-virus is ALWIL Software.

I don't have hard disk encryption, I still don't trust HD encryption in case you are ever locked out of your system.

This security score thing gave me a 95.
I got 10 out of 10 for hd encryption, and I only use axcrypt. Axcrypt only encrypts single files (not whole partitions).

Another Chinese AV found to be highly suspicious

Infamous Hacker Heading Chinese Antivirus Firm

Anvisoft

A user at the form asked them first

"Hello. I'd like to buy and use your product, but I find it strange that there is no real information about who owns and runs Anvisoft. Kind of important to have credibility as a security company. You're asking people to pay for and install software that is supposed to protect them from threats, and yet there is zero information about who runs your company on your Web site.

Care to offer more information for the user community? Thanks"

Their first reply

"Hello,
Welcome to Anvisoft forum. We appreciate your support to Anvisoft software.

Found in 2011, Anvisoft is a next generation company which specializes in anti-malware and system optimization technology led by a group of innovative, enthusiastic, and visionary specialists. At Anvisoft, we are dedicated to developed high-performing security and PC performance improvement solutions for users, detecting and removing known and emerging forms of threats, and speeding up PC by new cloud computing technology. At present, we are focus on Windows platform's development, but we still keep in mind that expands our development into multi-paltforms, including iOS and Android, etc"

The user asked another one

Thanks for the prompt reply, Ivy. But I'm interested in *who* you are, not *what* your company may be. Can you tell me anything about the real life people who run this company, beyond pseudonymous nicknames?

Also, I should note that while you told a previous forum member who asked a similar question that Anvisoft was based in Canada (http://forums.anvisoft.com/viewtopic-29-418-0.html), your company's trademarks say your firm is actually in China (http://trademarks.justia.com/857/23/anvisoft-85723524.html). Can you explain this discrepancy please? Thanks.

Their reply again

"Hi,
The person who runs anvisoft company is not worth mentioning because he is unknown to you.
Yes, the company is located at Canada.

5334 Yonge Street, Suite 141, Toronto, Ontario M2N 6V1, Canada"

A person from Canada replied

"I live in Toronto.

The address you gave it nonsense. Unless your running out of the back room of a copy center. Are you? Or is the "Suite" a generous name for your P.O. Box?"
