On Win10 when I clicked on the emupdate.exe it seemed like nothing happens. I have Avast set to Notify When An Update Is Available and when I click on Update Program, it thinks it is at the latest (but it is .30)
Reboot the system.

Reboot did it. I guess what happened was my other system (XP Pro) updated in the morning and did not ask for a reboot. So when it booted this morning, .42 was on it. Laptop now has the .42 (win 10 system)

Hi, I have two issues regarding the new update:

1) I ran a boot time scan and the scan result is not logged within the scan history panel

2) When you run a full/quick scan it does not show which files are being scanned

Works for me, see screenshot.

Well the statistics was removed some time ago for revision/reworking, what appears was of even less information than came before. So that too has been withdrawn for revision/reworking as has been mentioned in a number of other posts.

Please ,can you give me the links concerned because (I don't know why) The search function on the forum does not seem to work for me.
advanced search on all topic with "stat*"or"statistics" or .... , newest first -> Just a dozen found in 2014 and older
I did not find either your post where you write black on white "statistics"
May be am I too bad?

To stay on the subject, I do not understand the policy of avast to want to remove the stats of the product

Is it so bad to keep an eye on what our antivirus does (or does not do)?

Eu gostava muito do globo do avast girando. E essa versão mudou completamente. Queria o globo novamente!

I really liked the spinning avast globe. And that version changed completely. I wanted the globe again!

I'm afraid I can't give URLs as I'm working from memory of the topics and posts that I have observed over some time as a regular helper on the forums and beta tester (where we/I see what is changing). The forum search is pretty poor, you really have to hit on the right string or you get swamped in unrelated topics/posts.

I still believe it was removed (for reworking) because it really provided insufficient data/stats to be worth much. Plus the one that appeared in the beta version had even less information.

I have no problem in people wanting to know what is going on, but 5 lines of active text showing what has been scanned is pretty worthless. By the time you opened the stats window that data/scan you were interested in would have dropped out of the  5 lines of active text.

A new version, at last!

Since I refused to keep the previous version, due to various problems I encountered with it, and had gone back to the release of spring 2016, I now can finally rejoice. ;)

What a great new release, UI wise as well as in regard of its programming. Everything seems to be working 100% fine in the free version. :)

Thanks DavidR for all
but 5 lines of active text showing what has been scanned is pretty worthless.
This is quite useful for me in real time when I want to control for example the third parties integrated (or script) in some sites at a given time.
Missing statistics for yesterday do not disturb me too much
Of course , each person has his own vision and usefulness of statistics

A new update has been released today (build 17.1.3394.42)

I would like to ask the Avast Team: Is it possible to let us know what are the changes in every new build? In the surface, I can't find any. Thanks!

Did you get the ".42" updated build through the auto-update?  I'm not seeing it.

Well, in my case, it updated automatically, with no intervention from me.

I still see at least some issues: No access to the Avast account yet. In my case, Avast takes a longer time to load in comparison to the former version. The same with the UI, a bit slow to load. And sometimes, I have to activate the firewall manually.

This is what I mean when I say that I can't see any change, in spite of the updates.

Nobody has answered about these issues:

- When shall we have a direct access from thu GUI to the Avast Account?
- When this long-time-to-load problem will be solved?
- Why the firewall gets disconnected -randomly- so I have to activate it manually?

I know these are minor issues, but I will be very grateful for your help.

And another question
Does avast use AVG database from now on?

As has been explained in other threads and on the avast website, the databases are merged.
