Same thing here... Internet seems like it's sputtering.  Some pages load fine, some clock.  If I do a speed test it's fine but this is def NOT running smooth since the new update.

After Avast is installed, go to settings, components, webshield, select customize then uncheck Enable https scanning. thenclick on OK

I had the same problem on a Vista build (slow internet browsing experience). I across this thread and tried this solution and it works! Thank you guys!

That should be fine for sites you trust, but I believe your computer can still get infected via HTTPS so disable it as little as possible.  As bob3160 says, this has been reported and will hopefully be fixed soon.
