Hello, there's missing Rescue Disk component, why?

If found it manually at program files (AvastPE2.exe) but can't start because of HTMLayout.dll and/or CommonUI.dll missing problems.

I'd like to report that the version causes BSOD in fltmgr.sys on Windows XP Pro x64(I keep a retro rig to run games like SimCity Societies and The Movies). The previous version did not do this.

it's been running on my XPx64 computer for the past 11 years, you can't just end support like that without a f###ing warning, laziness is not a virtue so get off your asses and fix it BECAUSE YOUR DAMAGING PEOPLES COMPUTERS!!!

it should have at least been made so that the update won't install on WinXPx64 computers,  because this is grossly negligent and harmful as is.

I have two Windows XPx64 bit machines that used Avast for the past few years.  Both were BSODed by the update. Now I have two bricks until I can find a way to uninstall Avast from Safe Mode.  Restore points did not complete, nor did disabling all Avast components in an effort to boot normally.

'Only 32 bit is supported' ... Is this the 'official' response.    Will Avast at least provide uninstall instructions ? (assuming Safe mode lets me display the Avast uninstall sequence in Add/Remove ...)  Thank you for your reply .

You can run that tool in Safe mode.

It is looking like avast no longer supports win XP 64bit, but we are seeking confirmation.  You might want monitor this topic https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=217186.0 and see if confirmation is clearly stated here.

The AvastClear uninstall worked well.  The 'Run' button was barely visible in the 640x480 Safe mode display, but I could click it.
The reboot after uninstall took a few minutes, hanging on a black screen until the login screen loaded.
After login Windows displayed the expected " The system has recoverd from a seriuos error .." popup, prompting to Send the Error report.
So far, I have a stable system again  , but no Avast protection .  Again, my sincere thanks.

I got rid of WOT based on trust and after a while I also got rid of AOS as I didn't feel it brought much to the party.  My browsing habits and general browsing security habits really negated my need.

Regarding scan history, anyone have an update as to if and when we are going to get our scan times back, still saying a few seconds?
