Freezing
« on: December 30, 2018, 03:43:52 AM »
I loaded the pics from my phone to photos. Since then the Pavilion laptop freezes at random times. Always freezes quickly in photos.
Not sure what to do.

It would also help to know how you loaded the photos to your computer.

Windows 10, Microsoft photos, plugged in phone with the cable. Went to Photos / import.
Since then, been to Settings Apps etc. Photos. Tried repair and reset. Photos freezes after a couple of minutes. There is also the option to uninstall. Says I will not lose my documents. Not sure if that means photos.
Running Avast Premium only.
Had to download Cotec to get sound from my Kaiser Baas X300 video camera. after transferring to the computer.

How did you get rid of McAfee which came pre-installed on your system ???

Uninstalled McAfee. Loaded Avast. Problem was driver support, which must have hitched on to a codec download that I needed for sound. Deep sixed driver support, ran malware scan, checked systems, uninstalled Avast, loaded McAfee. Did all this with HP Support. Avast should have caught the baddies in driver support, IMO.
Now I have a problem with Avast on my Toshiba. Will start a new thread.
