You can't 'ask' the scheduled scans option be available... the Pro version should have any advantage.

1. Scheduling covered by others.
2. Skins are totally independent of the avast program no matter what version and mostly done by avast users/enthusiasts and submitted to avast for checking and inclusion.
3. That has been the current practice to optimise avast, the last major program update reduced system resources. Unfortunately any additional functionality would have a resource hit, however, that too would be optimised also.
4. All of the above covered ;D

I also think it is way to late in the day for new things for version 5.

This suggestion may get laughed at, but, i would love to see an advanced firewall included in "avast! 5", this to me would make "avast!" the perfect security software and would give it's cometitors something to think about., lets face it "avast!" is one of the best free AV programs around and the inclusion of an advanced firewall would make "avast!" a complete solution, which i would love to see.

I don't think avast should become another all-in-one resource hog solution with actually poor efficiency... And I know it's not going to be what way  ;)

a search of the forums will show that many don't want avast to become a bloated jack of all trades suite, like Norton, etc. Not to mention there is absolutely no way that this could be implemented in the likely time frame to version 5 (even if Alwil considered it).

There are plenty of stand alone firewalls out there, many free, where you can choose a firewall that suits your needs than have to accept whatever happens to come bundled with a suite. This after all is why people have chosen avast, it suits their needs, give me a specialist tool over a suite any day.

for scan scheduling it's better to use Windows XP/Vista task scheduler that's already loaded and used for other system activities. No extra service/process is needed.
So avast should create a new task into Windows XP/Vista task scheduler.

I selected better skins because it really does need a better default skin. It shouldn't look like a media player. It really should look more professional.

However, the most important feature needed which was not a part of the poll is HEURISTICS...

Well there are three skins downloaded by default I believe and 'newer and better skins' is plural and doesn't sound like replace the default skin to me.

Define professional, have you tried the no skin option ?

I understand that the poll option was plural, but I am personally only referring to the default skin, so just one skin.

I have tried the no skin option and I do prefer it to the media player look of the default skin. By professional I mean clear, clean, crisp. I just don't think the look of a media player suits and anti-virus program, but that is, of course, just my opinion. Examples of some of the extra skins that I do like are: Corporate, Lite-On, RejZor-Sharp, and possibly aVist.

However, I would always prefer to use the skin created by the company which created the program.

Well so far we know for sure that avast! will have behavior blocker, self-protection and most probably generic unpacker. Everything else is still pretty much unknown...
