Real Time Protection

Tha Avast start automacally with WindowsXP SP2 but not starting the service real time protection. When I try start of real time protection show the messange "avast! The sub-system AAVM ... error of RPC".

That error is it?

This problem began today.

P.S.: My internet is dial-up and I use WinXP SP2.

I sure my english because my english is terrible.

Gustavo, this is generally associated to a presence of more than once antivirus in the computer.
Did you install any other antivirus in the past in this computer?
Did you try to repair your installation (Control Panel > Add/Remove programs)?
Did you try uninstall / boot / install / boot ?
