Avast eats RAM PLEASE HELP!

Avast version 21.1.2449 (build 21.1.5968.643)
PC: Windows 7, 8GB of RAM
My AvastSvc process has probably been eating up RAM every hour for about 100,000 kb for 4 days already. Restarting it temporarily resets it, but it again starts to eat the RAM very quickly. So it takes more than 1 GB and takes more and more. What can be done about it?
