Switching to 2003 server
« on: July 09, 2007, 10:36:07 PM »
We are installing a new server and need to transfer our license over from the old server to the new server. The old server will be wiped clean as soon as we get the new server to work.

How can we transfer the license? Or can we do it at all?

Hi Novco,

and welcome to the avast forums.

I am not sure if you're asking how to technically do it, or if it is legal.

1. It is legal.
2. Technically, all you need to do is insert the original license file (license.dat) to the new server. If you're using the ADNM, you should delete the old server from the Computer Catalog.

Thanks

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.
