Web Shield stops working (Vista)
« on: October 31, 2007, 11:53:12 AM »
I have Vista installed on my new laptop. I have a few times received a warning to say Web Shield has stopped working. I restart the module with no problem, however is this a reported bug please? (I have 4.7. 1043).

Strange... do you use any proxy application?
Is there any files called unpXXXX in <avast>\data\log folder? (where XXXX is a random number)
If so, send them to vlk (at) avast.com
They may contain more information about the problem (maybe a link to this thread).

Hi Tech. I am not using any proxy service that I am aware of. There are four unp files in my Avast Data folder. What do I need to do to send  to VLK? Copy and zip then email?
Thanks

Hi greenhatch,

I had a look at the dump you sent me (thanks for that) and it seems that the crashes occur inside module called "SploitChecker.dll" - which is part of Link Scanner Pro. Are you using this software?

Thanks
Vlk

I do indeed use LinkScannerPro. Thanks for the  heads up!  I'll take it up with Exploit asap.
