Please welcome the version 24.4 of Avast AV released on April 30th, 2024

Major public announcement:

• Browser cookie protection – Password Protection now protects you against cookie theft. This new functionality helps protect your sensitive data that is stored in your browser cookies.
• Real-time protection – We’ve improved messaging to let you know when your protection is running smoothly afetr you restart your computer.
• Feedback Module – Check out the new and improved design so you can add feedback with ease.
• Smart Scan – You will receive more info and results about any issues.
• More bugfixes  - e.g. - changes related to passive mode when not all shields were enabled after passive mode was disabled, fixes to correctly starting of Firewall service, etc...

How to install:

• Update from your existing Avast version via Settings -> Update -> Update program

could this be why every email (home & work), all forums and facebook logs me out as soon as i close firefox even though i tick the keep me logged in box. I have avast pasword manager auto fill but with all the emails i have to go through the two factor authentication every single time so wait for another email to be sent to a scond account with a login code. luckily my phone stays logged into all the emails so i can receive the 2 factor authentication.
can individual users opt out of this cookie protection.

Yes this fuction is not for free version.

I just updated, and mine to show all the new features on restart pop-up. Perhaps they fixed that this week.

Now that everything's up to date for me, it's hard to tell whether it's a recent correction or a translation problem (French)?

Maybe it's possible to find this popup again at any time, but I don't know how.

Check your program version and build number. Mine are 24.4.6112 and 24.4.9067.762, respectively.

I updated on 30/4 and like Chris above there was no mention of password or cookies and just a 2 line of general bug fixes. i didnt get a screenshot this time.
mine is now same as above 24.4.6112 and 24.4.9067.762

Probably the UI version has changed

I have 1.0.803 but I don't know if I had that when I updated.

So this doesn't pop up for me on a restart. It pops up for me after I wake my computer from Sleep. I'm on Windows 10.

EDIT: removed the wrong text. I was referring to the Real-time protection alert, not the Browser cookie protection. My mistake.
