Xbox 360 doesn't work with DI-604 router
« on: February 23, 2008, 06:04:13 PM »
My Xbox 360 doesn't work DI-604 router. It complains IP address test failed. I then have to log into and renew DHCP, it then connects but I have to do it every time I connect.

Any guess what I need to do to make it fully functional.

You need to forward ports 88 (UDP) and 3074 TCP and UDP) to the IP address of your xbox360.

The link below gives you a step by step on how to do this forwarding thing in no time:

http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DI-604/Xbox_Live_360.htm

BTW, D-Link DI-604 is one of the worst routers in D-Link line... so unstable it is incredible. There is I believe some kind of hardware error going on with these routers... they overheat pretty easy and of course that's when you loose your internet connection. I am not saying your version is affected with this problem, but you may wann check this in some of those routers dedicated forums like dslreports.com

Also, make sure you're running the latest firmware for your version of this router.
MB: GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD3H Intel 7 Series  - LGA1155, CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K - Quad Core, 3.40GHz (3.80GHz Max Turbo), CPU COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Direct Heat Pipe R2, RAM: 16 GB Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3, VIDEO CARD: Galaxy GeForce GTX 560 Ti - 1GB, GDDR5, POWER SUPPLY: Corsair Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 - 750 Watts, HD: Seagate Barracuda - 2TB, 7200RPM, 64MB, SATA 6Gb/s

Thanx. How do I find the static IP of the port i.e. 192.168.0.xxx on which I have connected Xbox?

When I run ipconfig /all on other computers I get the static IP. I tried to plug one of the computers into the port in which I wish to connect Xbox but it reveals the same static IP as it did for the previous port.

In nutshell, I want to know how I can find out static IP.

Well since I don't own Xbox360 myself, I am not quite sure, but I found some info on doing this... maybe it will be helpful to you.

Boot your Xbox and simply scroll all the way down the main list and highlight the SETTINGS tab. On the right side, the assigned IP address will be displayed so you can write it down and use it when configuring your router.
