Virus from image

I was wondering if a jpeg or other image types can contain malware

They aren't infected as such but jpg files can be exploited to run things like iframes which can be injected into the end of the file code and open malware sites, etc.

The article you are reading is very old, September 30, 2004 and if your operating system is fully up to date it closes that vulnerability, but it doesn't stop them trying.
