License key to mail.ru
« on: March 13, 2009, 02:37:17 PM »
Hi!

We have a problem with mail.ru
This service treat letters from avast! as spam and deletes them from users mailboxes.
As this servise is mostly used in Russia for free mail account a LOT of people sit and wait for the key for weeks!
Is it possible to add special remark at this page http://67.228.112.194/eng/home-registration.php?lang=RUS stating not to use mail.ru and it's subservises - list.ru,inbox.ru, list.ru and bk.ru?

Surely this should be directed to mail.ru as the email from avast.com clearly isn't spam and to add avast.com domain to their anti-spam exceptions.

You could also use a different email address to register.

It's not my own problem, I have corporate address. We as avast distributor have a lot of complains from potential clients. Administration of mail.ru wants to do nothing with it.

It's great idea.

DavidR, we can't by ourself add avast.com domain to the mail.ru (list.ru, inbox.ru, list.ru, bk.ru) anti-spam exceptions. As Lex have said, administration of mail.ru know about this problem but do nothing. A lot of people in Russia put their mail.ru accounts in registration form but (as mentioned) they can't receive their keys.

If you read my post again, you will see that isn't what I was suggesting.

All one sentence and as it says at the start it should be directed to mail.ru for them to take action, but as Lex said mail.ru aren't interested, when it is a problem of their making. A really responsible caring attitude towards their customers, NOT. If people report avast isn't sending out spam I would have hoped they would investigate that and ultimately remove avast.com from their spam filtering.

DavidR, the situation is in another point. New users just consider that it ALWIL is who does not send keys, therefore anybody to the administration of mail.ru does not address and will not be. Thx.

Yes, but who gets the blame isn't who is at fault. The other problem is that mail.ru isn't the only email server or ISP that blocks avast.com for whatever reason so it would require more than simply adding one domain name to one web page...

We know it but we can explain it to each new user only on our forum about avast!

Believe me it would be enough. Besides, we ask to add these domains only on page of registration avast! for Russian-speaking users.

Yes but what about the other users not just Russian speaking users that have the same problem, do they not deserve consideration. It is that which could increase the changes to all language versions of the registration pages.
