Avast 5.0.507 -> windows xp unable to load
« on: April 18, 2010, 04:44:56 PM »
I really should thank you. I had almost 40 phone calls because ALL, read this ALL MY WINDOWS XP sp3 setups refuse to load since the 507 update. 3 pc's at my house did the same.

Windows starts loading and progress bar freezes. Going to safe mode, removing avast, install nod32. Problem solved.

What are you doing to this antivirus? Forcing people to update to windows seven cause windows xp wont work?
I dont really know whats your point now.

avast is acting like a virus to me. better, a free virus software  :)
I cant give you any debug cause windows justs dies... So it's better you, avast team, see what have you done in this update, before 507 I only had trouble with a beta version.

On my laptop, windows 7 x64, works just fine.

The windows xp setups it's from a oficial xp sp3 cd, from msdn, all windows update installed.

oh, almost forgot. Thank you for ruining my weekend and my exam tomorow.
