It depense on what do you want or what your idea is of Internetsecurity.
For me none of them are really usefull. A Popup or advertising blocker do not increase your security, it maybe is a nice feature, but do not make your surfing more secure. Disabling ActiveX, using Mozilla, Opera and often check for Windowsupdates bring you more security.

But maybe i am completly wrong. :)

Malleno,

I agree with Raman.  You need to define what you want to have as "internet security".
Firstly, I would recommend that you visit www.wilders.org to see what they have to offer in the way of recommended programs.  In addition, they have  many suitable FREE apps that you can try.  They provide good background info on what "internet security" really means.

Personally, here is what I have as a security lineup :
Rule base Firewall (Application base is fine for novices)
Anti-virus with resident guards (AVAST..what else!!)
Anti-spyware
Script Blocker (Avast Pro has one included.  Avast Home does not)
Cookie Filter (to catch any that might get through)
Pop-up killer (for laughs)

*You can also use a web filter which can really block a lot of junk from happening.  Webwasher and Proxomitron (my favorite) work well.

Most types of these programs can be obtained free from any one of these reputable sites:
www.wantdbest.com
www.webattack.com
www.wilders.org
www.cnet.com
www.zdnet.com
www.download.com
www.nonags.com
www.tucows.com

Have fun and stay secure!
