Win32:Tibs-EOE - how to eradicate?
« on: October 14, 2010, 11:07:40 AM »
Hi There,

Yesterday Win32:Tibs-EOE attacked my computer and has been causing me problems. I downloaded the AVAST Free option and scanned my computer which located the infected files and eliminated them.

However I am still getting continuous avast pop ups saying "Trojan Horse Blocked" and avast keeps moving this to the chest.

I have googled the problem and have followed the below instructions to insure that Win32: Tibs EOE has been removed. I can not locate any Win32:Tibs-EOE files in steps 1-4 and I don't know how to implement step 5. The Trojan Horse seems to continue creating a new file every 30 seconds and the avast pop up continues. How do I stop both? Thanks.

Win32:Tibs-EOE Step-by-Step Removal Instructions
1.To stop all Win32:Tibs-EOE processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager.
2.Click on the "Processes" tab, search for Win32:Tibs-EOE, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.
3.Click "Start" button and selecting "Run." Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK."
4.Once the Registry Editor is open, search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Win32:Tibs-EOE." Right-click this registry key and select "Delete."
5.Navigate to directory %PROGRAM_FILES%\Win32:Tibs-EOE and delete the infected files manually.

The site that you got information from has a poor reputation from Browser Scanners. No wonder you got the infection, you didn't have a antivirus until recently and you don't check the sites before you visit them.

The site that you got your information from promotes rouge software.

Answer this question: What is the name of the file that is infected?

Download MalwareBytes AntiMalware and do a full scan, it might pick up the infected files.
Download MalwareBites Here: http://www.techspot.com/downloadget.php?id=4716&file=1&evp=dfe941da102256017e18e202d751eb4c

If that fails, then download HijackThis and do a full scan, then post the log file here. Remember to save it to your desktop!
